Looking for one last weekend of summer fun? If so, be sure to check out the Paris Fair if you find yourself in the area. This fair has been a staple of the Paris community for 165 years and is now celebrating its 166th year this Labour Day weekend. This five-day event showcases our region's rich culture and agricultural heritage while providing entertainment for everyone. Whether you're a foodie and want to check out the amazing food vendors or looking to let out your competitive side with some carnival games, the Paris Fair has something for you.
When is it Happening?
The fair will run from August 29th to September 2nd, with special events happening every day. Tickets can be purchased online through the Paris Fairgrounds website or in person at the fairgrounds. If you're planning to attend on multiple days, consider opting for a weekend pass, which gives you access to all five days of fun.
Agriculture Exhibits & Shows
Interested in learning more about agriculture? The fair offers a wide range of exhibits, demonstrations, and shows perfect for anyone with a curiosity about farming and rural life. You can catch a milking demonstration, shows featuring dairy, beef, goats, and sheep, as well as various livestock exhibits and much more!
Demolition Derby
No visit to the Paris Fair is complete without experiencing the Demolition Derby, which takes place on Friday and Monday. If you decide to come for the derby, make sure to arrive early, as seats fill up fast! Don’t miss the excitement when drivers compete on the track to be the last car running.
Canadian Country Stars
One of the major attractions at this year's fair is the lineup of concerts. Over the years, the Paris Fair has hosted many great musicians, including Tim Hicks and Josh Ross. This year, the tradition continues with performances by Jade Eagleson and Brett Kissel. These concerts will take place on Saturday and Sunday and are free to attend with the cost of admission. For an additional $40, you can purchase a VIP Pass, which will give you access to the VIP area, including a beer garden, food truck, and lawn games.
Food & Fun
Of course, it wouldn't be a day at the fair without treating yourself with some classic fair food, trying your luck at the carnival games, and enjoying the rides. With a wide array of food options and rides suitable for all ages, there’s something for everyone. Many of the food trucks also offer water and other beverages, so be sure to stay hydrated in the summer heat.
After hearing about all these events, you won't want to miss out on this year's fair.
